On February 7, 2010, Nan’s Antique Costumes and Props featured in the LI Life section of Newsday, just in time for Carnival and Mardi Gras!

Carnival is a festive season which occurs immediately before Lent; the main events are usually during February. Carnival typically involves a public celebration or parade combining some elements of a circus, mask and public street party. People often dress up or masquerade during the celebrations, which mark an overturning of daily life.
Revelers from all over the world will don costumes & masks to take part in this celebrated annual event which takes place before the fasting for Lent, and Antique Costume & Prop Rental is ready for them! From our vast collection, they can choose something simple from the Medieval period to a very elaborate court costume of the Renaissance. For years, our costumes have graced ballrooms all over the US and Europe – including the palace at Versailles.
